Project description

The AAN-DI project aims to foster digital transformation to enhance the skills, employability, and self-reliance of neurodivergent individuals. By leveraging tailored digital tools, the project focuses on supporting their professional competencies, mental health, well-being, and unique needs. This initiative involves capacity-building efforts for staff from four higher education institutions (HEIs) in Kenya and India, in collaboration with international partners. The program country partners are Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ (JYU), Finland and University of Valencia (UVEG), Spain. Partner country institutions are Great Lakes University of Kisumu (GLUK) and Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST), Kenya. And, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) and University of Kashmir (KU), India. 12 additional organizations actively contribute to the project’s implementation. The key objectives are:

  1. Capacity building for HEI staff. Training multidisciplinary partner country staff and students in three core areas: Digital Well-being and Inclusion, Transversal Digital Competencies for Neurodiversity, and Sustainable Digital Transformation for Neurodiversity
  2. Development of Certified Training Modules. Create three certified staff training modules on the aforementioned topics, which will be made openly accessible for learning at GLUK, MMUST, IITB, and KU.
  3. Skill Development for HEI Students. Offer three accredited short online courses (2 ECTS each) focused on digital well-being, transversal competencies, and sustainable transformation for neurodiversity; Improve employability through a supervised one-month internship program with associated partner organizations and the project consortium.
  4. Blended mobility facilitate mobility opportunities for staff and students and these aim to advance skills and foster collaborative programs in neurodiversity.
  5. Support for Neurodivergent Individuals.
    Establish the NeuroWiz Hub, a digital ecosystem openly accessible to support neurodivergent individuals by enhancing their professional skills, well-being, mental health, and digital inclusion.

The AAN-DI project is poised to create lasting benefits for HEIs, students, and neurodivergent communities by promoting inclusion, skill development, and international collaboration. Through its comprehensive approach, the project aims to drive sustainable digital transformation and empower neurodivergent individuals globally.
